Visual Art Journal Class- my oh my...

Finished Visual Art Journal Pages
Vintage Hardcover Book to use in Journal making

Your life is a story waiting to be told.

Create a Visual Journal to preserve your life’s memories and make a gift of them to yourself and your family.

In this class we will transform an old hardcover book into a fascinating journal of your amazing life going forward.
Learn this unique binding technique, and how and what to collect to make your personalized life story in words and pictures

Think of your life as a museum filled with memories you have built through the years. We have genealogy lists for ancestors, but we don’t know the “why’s” of their lives, the little things that tickled their fancy.  Start preserving your history. This class will only be offered at Stillwater Community Education...Feb. 16 7-9 p.m. Stillwater High School call 651 351 8300 to register.  This is my favorite thing to make (maybe? almost?..) Come and enjoy.

Birds

Hi there on this sunny summer day!  These are the birds I share my studio with.  The painted one is above my door. It was painted by my daughters very talented art friend from Menomonie.  The other three watch over my computer. Enjoy the day.

New Work!

Busy getting ready for the ACRE Show in Las Vegas. Check out my new work.
And here is one of my new lamps!

Welcome

Hello and welcome to the new Stroke Of Art blog.
We all yearn for the real person inside.  When you find it - it will refresh your sagging spirit- you  will be spontaneous, wild even free and let go of control and enjoy the present.

I believe in the transforming power of Art.  We all are creators.  I believe that deeply. Look at the native americans.  They created not only utilitarian objects, but made them into beautiful works because since cavemen paintings, we all have earn for beauty and "Art".  We all have that creator in us. The Minneapolis Institute had a great exhibit opening of the art of the American Indian.   Intricate design, colors and amazing bead and piecework on everyday items.  I too look for the beauty in everyday objects.  I try to stay in the moment and reflect on all that is around me.  Let me show you how I see my world.
